Welcome to an exciting week of creativity, expression, and skill-building at our Performance Workshop Camp!
This one-week program offers student performers a unique opportunity to focus on various aspects of performing while working with CWETA’s artistic staff. Get ready for fall auditions and productions, as well as our next production—announcement coming May 1st!
When you register, you’ll select a primary performance discipline to focus on throughout the camp. Each day will begin with a fun and interactive large-group activity to energize and inspire everyone. After the group session, you'll break into smaller groups based on your chosen discipline, where you'll work closely with experienced instructors to refine your skills. While most of your time will be spent perfecting your selected discipline, you’ll also get the chance to explore and experience all performance aspects throughout the week.
Whether you’re passionate about acting, dance, or improv, this camp is designed to help you grow, collaborate, and showcase your talents. Get ready for an unforgettable week of learning, creativity, and fun!
Focus Disciplines:
Improve / Comedy:
Our Improvisation and comedy focus will use a series of exercises, games and scenes to encourage spontaneous thinking and collaboration. It’s a great way for students to build their confidence while thinking on their feet and exploring humor.
Acting Techniques:
The art of bringing characters to life. Through a variety of exercises and scene work, acting sessions will focus on character development, peer interaction, and improv to develop acting skills that reveal characters and really tell the story of the script.
Dance & Choreography:
Dance sessions will help students develop their skills in dance and movement as well as creating some of their own choreography. There will be a focus on specific styles of movement - such as Tap or Jazz - to encourage students to explore the world of dance.
